At The French Car Connection, we combine hands-on expertise with heartfelt customer service – all backed by the incredible journey of our director, Wendy Voltaire.
Wendy began her career in the aviation industry, working for five years as both a ground hostess and air hostess with leading Southern African airlines. Assisting thousands of passengers through high-pressure situations, Wendy mastered what many overlook – the art of listening, calm problem-solving, and genuinely caring about people.
Her next chapter brought her closer to her roots in engineering. Over 10 years, Wendy, her husband, and their son built a 60-foot, 30 metric tons, Canadian Samson Marine-Ketch Cutter Cruiser by hand. From Mast Rigging, painting, plumbing, welding, electrical systems and cabinetry, she poured her energy into every detail. That yacht now sails the Southern Atlantic – a floating symbol of her dedication and craftsmanship.
Wendy later joined Toyota South Africa, where she spent 17 years and rose to become one of the country’s top-ranked Master Service Advisors. Renowned for her technical knowledge and consistently high customer satisfaction scores, she mentored new advisors and set the benchmark for what great automotive care should look like.
After her time at Toyota, Wendy spent three years managing luxury commercial properties in the short-term rental market – overseeing every aspect of the guest experience, from booking through to post-checkout, with the same precision and hospitality she’s known for.
At 65, Wendy purchased The French Car Connection – a workshop that brings together everything she’s built over the decades: mechanical expertise, customer dedication, and an unwavering commitment to doing things right.
